Sorry to be so dense, but the hotel web site seems to indicate the hotel is located in Guaymas, but lists a San Carlos address. IS it in San Carlos?
Does anyone have any comments or reviews they would be willing to share with me on this hotel? The web site indicates the rooms do not have phones, but do have internet access.
Anything I can learn from local residents before booking a room would be helpful. I've already been to TripAdvisor.
Thanks for any info.

| Fiesta is in San Carlos, the rooms don't have phones and the internet service is probably wireless. Many hotels, resturants, etc in SC and elsewhere now have wireless service. Internet cafes are also common in Mex towns. Fiesta is one of several motels in SC. There are also many in Guaymas which is about 15min away.

I have not stayed at Fiesta for many years so I cannot tell you about the room conditions but they are on the beach and each room has a little balcony with ocean views. There is also a bar/restaurant on site.

Maybe I should have just asked for hotel recommendations, hotels that people know are nice, but reasonably priced.
I am not looking for luxury - just clean, on the beach if possible, with food options nearby, quiet if possible, and 1st floor if there is no elevator, phone for local calls and internet access. Budget price - if possible, around $50 USD per night (I can hear you all laughing now).
Any ideas? Thanks again...

| Rooms are regular rooms and in good condition and also a few kitchenettes I think. They have a sign out front right now at near 55.00 per night single and 20.00 per night additional for second person. Parking lot for restaurant was heavily damaged but still sufficient, parking for motel untouched and great. Hotel is in great condition. Just might wanna be careful of Luis, best margarita maker in San Carlos and will always make you feel like a long lost friend. October is a great month. COME ON DOWN. Also great food right there. One of the first places on your left as you come into town. Not in Guaymas, but here in San Carlos, Nuevo Guaymas as it's sometimes known. Ron

Thanks, Ron. Hmmm... wonder if Luis should watch out for me!
I am liking the $55 rate! I'll call in the morning and see if they have an elevator. I can't lug all this baggage up 3 flights of stairs.
Thanks again!

The hotel is 3 floors, no elevator. The 2nd floor is the "ground flood" at the parking lot/office level. 1st floor is a beach/bar level and the 3rd floor is one level up from the parking lot, office level. They have maybe 30 -35 rooms.
This is NOT an american style beach hotel. It is plain but clean rooms. It is on the beach and has as good a view as you will find in SC.

| Thanks, mesa. I hope they will guarantee a ground floor room, then.

Fiesta is a good hotel. We have had several friends stay there when visiting. No phones. I'm sure they would have someone that could help you w/luggage if necessary. Also, although it is a while since I ate there, I have heard good things about the restaurant. The view is wonderful and you can watch the dolphins swim by. Check and see what the rate is over the internet. Could possibly be cheaper. Others have posted that they advertise here $55 for single. Kitchens are more but pretty well equiped. No little fridges in the rooms w/o kitchens. Very basic but clean.

Thanks for all the replies and helpful information. The fridges are only in the second floor (top) rooms, but Alex said there would be someone to help me with my luggage.
And they do have the $55 rate for a single. YAY!
Thank you again!

Marigot,
Think "Motel 6" but larger rooms. The floor is tile, as are most beach hotels. If you like it cold, you might be a little uncomfortable, but I find the 75 degrees the AC makes it as comfortable.
We bring down a small coffee pot for self comfort.
As you mentioned wanting, it is clean, on the beach, pool and a view. We have always quite enjoyed it. We leave our dive stuff outside to 'dry' (at least drain), and bring in the expensive stuff at night. Nothing has been bothered. We still enjoy the Fiesta restaurant for breakfast.

I recently booked a reservation with Fiesta, Yes it is a $55 or so dollar rate. What they fail to inform you about is the tax they apply to the rate. It is about 25%. The total for one night ended up being around $72.00 When I asked about the tax they told me that all hotels apply the tax. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and they do not apply the tax (or they just include it in the nightly rate). Also, the rooms do not have TV's and I also do not remember a phone in the room either.
Just a heads up!!

All hotels have to pay the tax. It's possible others added it into the quoted rate but they don't usually do so for obvious reasons. No phones or TV's but oh the view!

| We just stayed there. No phones, NO Internet, NO TV, Bring Towels. There were two towels, no hand towels, NO Clothes Hangers, NO hooks to hang wet suits . Bring your own Beach Towels. The food is good and the view is great, but other than that I would look elsewhere.

| The reservationist told me internet access is available in the lobby - is that NOT true?

| That could possibly be true. There is also a large room upstairs with a big TV. But nothing in the rooms, so unless you are out the whole evening it will get pretty boring.
