Thank you for simplifying the scope of the threat to the rest of us simpletons. Geez, why don't you get off the "THEY are out to get me"!

It just seems that you have an overpowering fear of having your laptop searched, given the odds of being targeted for a search. From the link you posted, there is a 1 in 221,000 chance of even being asked if you have one, and to turn it on to show that is is a functioning computer. The intrusive "scan and search" you fear is a 1 in 4,804,000 occurrence.

From the DHS bulletin:

"Between Oct. 1, 2008, and Aug. 11, 2009, CBP encountered more than 221 million travelers at U.S. ports of entry. Approximately 1,000 laptop searches were performed in these instances—of those, just 46 were in-depth."

One more thing NOT to worry about when traveling to San Carlos.......

So, in your own words (with a little mixing):

A single man in a cab-over camper is looked upon as a possible pedophile.

I've been thoroughly shook down three times this summer, twice by the Americans at the US/Mexican border (by) someone with questionable critical thinking skills

For those of us whose laptop is more than a simple source of enjoyment, Officers with little common sense are profiling.

....and I am "demonizing"?
