Good afternoon,
First I would like to say that I do not live in San Carlos (although I visit a lot) and I did not read the article.
I do live in the town that is known for the longest on going labor strike (2 years) and the largest single battle ( 30+ dead ) of mafia vs. the law.
I do not read newspaper articles about things in Mexico as I have found that reporting is bad and reporters don't have a clue.
I feel safer here than when I go to Phx on business (lived there for many years). I am the lone gringo in a town of 35,000 and have no thoughts of ever returning to the US.
If I can quote Bart, "My stance has never wavered-if you stay out of places and activities you would not tell your mother about, don't become a Mexican law enforcement officer or military member, and don't get involved in the drug trade you are more likely to be struck by lightning then involved in one of these incidents."
And finally, Mexico would not have a drug war if it weren't for the US consumption. The war between the dealers is for the routes not the customers.

Lighten up - you guys have totally gotten away from the original post. Webb sites,etc Don't know what difference that makes to the guys that make their living in S.C.
There's nothing to change what people think or fear . I'm a member of one that does his best to let people know that Mexico is safe. Who knows- maybe it isn't safe. But I love the place and I figure if I can talk a few people into that S.C. is a paradise -which I believe it is-then I'm doing my part.

| Fact is, there would be no drug war over routes if the customer base was not so good in the US. Many replies are variations on the usual " nothing is wrong or could possibly be wrong in america or with americans in gereral" There is always someone else to blame of prosecute for the failings of our own society.

George- I don't mean to be petty here but I get Tired of Folks That Don't understand Mexico as well as Canada are all in America..You first reference the US. I believe your second reference of America should also Be The US..or ???

| I understand that there are many countries in the Americas, but it is only the US that has the high drug demand and only the US that exports guns that cause trouble all over the Americas. Once agin, I reiterate that the root cause of the problem is the lack of policing of US citizens themselves and laws that are too loose and laissez-faire at home.

Being that I am fishing in PP for months @ a time, this was just patched over to me by friends, looks like I may be going to SC more often & forget PP, NOT safe, this makes 7 -8 murders so far this yr. to none last yr. I was in PP for the last one, 4-killed that time, shootout at the Malacon, downtown old port killers followed ambu. to hosp. & finished the job, cops, & hosp. staff on floor. 28 July o9,
