Jan,

In your latest epitaph, it appears to me you have accurately discribed yourself.

Jan,

Welcome to SC.  You are misreading me, I am not a forum hater, or a forum "judge" ask around, I am not anonymous, but you are.  I know, at the very least, 10 Jans in SC, which one are you?  I really don't care, I respect you right to anonynimity.

As to the issue really at hand here, Nesso, came on line asked for help and advise, got a lot from knowing and caring 'SC residence, including yourself.  Someone offered some advise he did not like, the statement submitted was not grammatically correct, and Nesso, jumped on the individual, guestioning their education and  it's whereabouts.

To me that is what sucked!

That brings us to your attempts to defend such behavior, by saying he was offended by this solicited advise, and you even went so far to say you did not blame him.  Then you went on to say:" How arrogant and creepy.  I guess I will only read this when I'm feeling really, really good and can handle he small minded judgements of people.  No more reading of this forum for me.  It sucks." Please remember all the comments addressed to Nesso were solicited, they were advise, your unsolicited comments were judgemental, not that we can't take them, and sometimes need them, but you need to toughen up also.

Bringing this to a close, (which I'm sure Bart wants), I do hope you will be feeling really, really good, everyday, and that you will continue to be a reader and a contributor on this site.  Ok Jan, see you around town, once again Welcome to SC

Sincerely, The Bombero, it really says that on my birth. cert.  does your birth. cert. say MexicoJan..........anonymous hahahahah!

Wow again.

If anything, it seems to me that the forum works very well in general: lots of different opinions, the mix of which is valuable. Pros, cons, hems'n'haws, etc., and the individual looking for information or advice weighs them.

In this specific case, I think it also worked well. El Suizo gave his opinion -- rather bluntly, but it didn't register with me as actually rude -- and for someone contemplating the sort of business at issue, it should be helpful to know that at least one person says the younger crowd are focused on wraps. There could be any number of responses to that, but the most useful one would seem to be something along the lines of "Interesting! Might be possible to invent some yummy deli wraps that youngsters would like!" Surely the least useful response is a meltdown that goes personal (and a bit silly, concentrating on an obvious typo of no consequence) -- totally off the point of the proposed business being a good concept or not for SC.

But back to the point of posting this: IMO this incident demonstrated the value of the forum. It may have actually done nesso a favor, saving him grief financial and otherwise in the long run.

It must be the summer heat - an amazing amount of invective over something so petty.

This thread is not typical of this board -- belongs on Viva San Carlos.  I favor this board because it is usually civil.  I am sorry for the folks that were looking forward to having a bagel/deli here.  Given the generally positive comments, perhaps some other person will open one.

:):):):):)  Because we have been receiving so MANY positive personal messages supporting our venue and asking us to reconsider our starting up in San Carlos; we will continue our "HOT PASTRAMI" Bagel & Deli plans.

Those positive personal private messages have asked us to ignore the plight of those negative San Carlosians who THRIVE on attempting to waste the time or other pleasant and positive people in the communities of San Carlos and Guaymas, only because these indviduals are bored with their own lives and are jealous of others who want to bring joy to others: something that they have lacked all of their days on earth.

Thank you  those who have given us their support and we look forward to meeting you in person in the very near future!

Nesso :D:D:D:D:D

Nesso,

I'm not an SC resident but a regular vacationer. Personally I come down for the seafood and tacos ... bagels are not my thing ... but if I REALLY had a hanker'n for a bagel, I'd order this way: Plain, toasted, cream cheese, lox, fresh tomato, onion and a sprinkle of salt & pepper ... but then I'd drive right by past your place and forget about it.

The people in SC and Guaymas are the nicest you will find anywhere ... please treat them with respect.

So, when and where are you opening?  I am tired of making my own bagels and I want a kosher dill!
