I suffer from overtreated and colored hair and yesterday I went to the hair salon/spa Chocolate, located at the MarinaTerra Hotel Complex. I LOVED IT. They use color that doesn't include peroxide so it doesn't damage your hair, it lasts longer (in my case until the gray grows in at the roots) and they have some really talented hair stylists. The process take a little longer because the color is developing without peroxide. Lupita did my hair and she did an amazing job. It's not often that I walk out of a salon feeling really happy. I had a lot done - two conditions, color, highlights, another condition and it was very reasonable....not cheap like a lot of Mexican salons, but much less than the US.
I can't recommend these people enough. They are a local business and they could use more business. They are nice, fabulous and talented. Also a full service spa. I know Lupita is fabulous and I know there are other equally fabulous stylists there plus they have all of the other things, like manicure, pedicure, massage etc.......
I am so thrilled to have found something like this just down the hill from where I live. Now my hair stands a chance! Call them at 225-2020/

Have you had them do a cut? If so, what are your thoughts about the quality of the cut and how much do they cost?
Thanks.

| Lupita cut my hair and it's the best cut I have ever had. I'm not sure what the cut cost as I had so many things done. The cut, color, highlights, three condition treatments came to $100 US so I'm guessing a cut would be around $20 or so but you would have to ask them.

| Since my first post a few months ago, I have been back to Chocolate' and I have been really happy with everything. I have taken all of my visiting friends and relatives there too. My husband, Bruce, is also going for therapeutic massage for a condition he has. The massages are $65 US. I was paying $100 in Sayulita. I have severe muscle tension which causes serious headaches and I am feeling much better. The Chocolate Spa is also really nice and it's a great experience overall. Eva and Marta are the massage therapists and they are fabulous. Lupita is the hair, makeup, color, nail expert. I really want to support their business so they stay in town. My sister just had a massage and was able to move her neck easily after not being able to for six months. We all forget to take care of ourselves. The ladies are also really nice and fun to get to know. They are working hard to try and learn English for the season coming up. Between my poor Spanish and their limited English we communicate just fine! Please give them a try!
