We are getting ready to head down next week. We were there in May and the jellyfish were rolling in the day we were leaving on the beach by Bahia Delfin. Just wondered if they are still there? We have little kids so it isn't much fun when they are all over the beach and at the shore line.
Does anyone know if there lots of jelly fish on the beach by Bahia Delfin?
Thanks

| my nephew was there(delfin) this past week wed-sun... he says there was quite a few washing up on the shore through out the day..they spent alot of time in the water and didn't see as many... go figure..best thing is to buy the kids some rash guards (skins) if they don't have some already...you can get them at the dive shops or at sports authority..the water temp was really nice..hope this helps..good luck and have a great trip!!!

I haven't spotted any jelly fish on any of San Carlos's beaches yet. I frequent all of them.

| We went out to the island off San Francisco beach this AM and saw more jellyfish than ever. We couldn't snorkle anywhere but tomorrow who knows. We did go to Lalo cove and it was fine. This time of year you just have to be careful and keep your eyes open.

Yes, every time is different. Wind is definitely going to accelerate the changing of conditions. If you walk the beach and don't see any jellyfish on the sand and there is no wind ... then you are fine. They don't just come swimming in out of nowhere. They are often in slicks of calm water on the windy days. Scout the area first. Take a little more caution after a rain, after the full moon, and during south winds. Have some white vinegar, windex, or toothpaste ready. Wear a lycra shirt (to also protect from the occasional little guys that don't ride on the surface of the water). Lastly, don't rub it in. Somehow I made it 25 years without getting stung, but lately they've got me a few times. There are high-risk times and low-risk times, but exercise some caution, use some reason, and play the odds. Finally, get some stuff on the sting and tough it out. They're not that bad if you treat them (unless you are one that is allergic to them!).

| Lalo is the area that you look down on from Mirador Ascension near Marina Real. Sometimes called Piedras Pintas. I have heard the area called Frenchie's Cove and Lalo but that might refer to the two seperate coves.

Thanks. I'd heard of Piedras Pintas but didn't know the cove was referred to as Lalo's. Is that what the local Mexicans call it also?

Do you see an jellies in October? I've been stung by the tiny (spider's silk like) tentacles before but haven't seen the MOW's in SC. Stung by a MOW in the Indian Ocean once - it was excruciating ... don't want that again!

| I was in SC the 2nd week of Oct. (last year), and didn't see any jellies on any of the beaches. I had planned on going back the first week of July (this year), and when I phoned, was told all beaches were full of jellies. I'm planning a trip back the 2nd week of Oct. this year, so hope they are gone.
