| Are you saying you want people to put personal trip reports there instead of the general forum?

just reviewed the site and it is excellent. Great that someone has taken the time to put it together. We are leaving San Carlos tomorrow and it does sadden me that the American and Canadian tourists are choosing not to come to Mexico in general and San Carlos specifically because of media fear mongering.
To anyone living in a major city in North America drug and gang related murders are regular occurrences so this problem is not isolated to Mexico.
It is unfortunate that the American government in particular have such a propaganda again Mexico. Basically they are wanting everyone to stay home and spend their money in the U.S. and they are succeeding as is evident in San Carlos by reduced tourist traffic.
I have spent 2 1/2 months in San Carlos over the last 5 months. I have travelled in to Hermosillo and Guaymas with no concerns. I am blond so trying to blend in with the Mexicans is a bit difficult. Neither my teenage daughter or any other member of our family who has visited have ever felt ill at ease or concerned for their safety in any way no matter where we have been. (They are all hoping to win the lotto so they can move here) I have shopped until late evening in both cities and had no more concerns than I would have had at home.
The Mexican people are very friendly, kind and helpful. They understand how important tourism is to Sonora and specifically to the San Carlos / Guaymas area.
I trust that anyone reading this forum will encourage their friends to visit Mexico and specifically San Carlos and as they will definitely have a wonderful time.

To answer Will Rogers question, no please still post on this forum and forward your positive comments to the address Mike provided. Or they can copy them unless you object.
I've already shared some thoughts with them about the site and will continue to do so. Think the two keys to success here are first bring the new site to the attention of the audiences on established sites and second for all of us who love Mexico to be ambassadors and provide the other side of the story.

That's great! I'll have my friend find a place to post the URL on her Puerto Penasco blog.
One thing: The print is small and a bit pale, making it hard for (cough 'older' /cough) eyes like mine to read it-- especially at a screen resolution above 800x600. Maybe bring the font up a size and make it a little darker?
Thanks for doing this! My friend has posted a couple of things about safety in Mexico on her blog, but it sounds less biased coming from a source such as Sonora is Safe.

Hi Swede:
Bart also suggested we increase the font size and a few other things, so I will try to fix those things on Monday.

Sonora is Safe and the business community of San Carlos are proud to present the Bands on the Beach concert series.
Come out to the Palapa Griega on the La Posada Beach July 17th and 18th from 5-8pm to dance and enjoy great jazz and blues music.
The concert is FREE and there are many items that will be raffled off during the show including fishing trips, sunset cruises, certificates to swim with the dolphins, room nights in some of the best places in San Carlos, quad rentals, spa packages, lunches and dinners in many of our fine restaurants, t-shirts, hats, etc.
Tell all your friends.
Check out our website for more information @ http://www.sonoraissafe.com.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at safesonora@hotmail.com.

Hi all. I've been meaning to join this forum for some time, but I've just been lazy. I run the blog Rocky Point Tides, mentioned by my friend Swede here. She told me about the Sonora is Safe website some time ago, and I have added it (and this forum, too) to my list of "Useful Links" on the blog. I figure we're both in Sonora, not all THAT far apart, and we have many things in common. What's good for San Carlos is good for Puerto Penasco is good for Mexico and so forth. At least, that's my philosophy, and I'm stickin' to it. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I really like San Carlos a lot.
Anyway, I also added a notice of the Bands on the Beach Concert in a recent post about wining, dining and playing on the beach just in case anyone in Rocky Point or Arizona or elsewhere near enough to get there might be persuaded to attend. I'd sure like to be there myself, but am stuck in the Old Country with family issues for a while.
Good luck and have fun and someone enjoy a Pacifico for me!
