So what happened to the other board? Suddenly you can't access it? You need a secret password to view the bulletin?

| I've checked several times in the last month or so and don't know how to access the board. If you find out how to do it, please let me know.

| Every now and then Moderator George puts up the password and you must register to get in, seems like a shame as it sure cuts down on valuable information from people who do not want to register.

There are some people who do not want to register, but like to read the board, now they cannot do that without registering either.

It is very easy to register at the other board, and then you can access the postings. On this board you have to be registered to reply to the postings as well.
Also remember if you clear your browser catch and 'cookies' on your computer you often clear stored passwords as well, so if you access it one day without problems and then have to sign in next time, maybe it's because you cleared your brower and also your stored passwords as well.
Lots of good postings and content on both boards

Yes, you have to register on this board to post, but not to view the messages. Why should someone have to register just to view? Many people have told me they would never post on the board, for fear of being attacked.

Long time resident
I think the other board has changed considerably for the better since the 'moderator' appeared on the scene to assit Alecs and monitors the postings, much like Bart does here. This seems to keep things a little more civil than in the past. Also, there is a separate section for political posts, they are not on the main board now, and this has helped as well. I think both boards are quite similar now and both very useful. The only difference that the Viva board has some advertisers but this doesn't seem to affect the content at all, at least not in my opinion. Like this board, there is a lot of very valuable info on the other board, and also a lot of locals that can answer questions for visitors or new residents, or help newcomers to learn the ropes about San Carlos and Mexico and general

John S,
This board has advertisers/sponsors as well. Those of us with commercial interest compensate Bart a modest amount....just like on the other board.
