IT'S OCTOBER 1ST!!
So............I went by this AM at about 9:30. THE GATE WAS OPEN!
But there was no sign of anyone, anywhere. I looked in the oficina, walked back by the alberca, generally made myself as visible as possible. Nadie.
Boy, the algae is thick in the pool. That will take some work.
That's all I can report. There were signs on the building saying they WOULD reopen but not when. There were about 3 phone numbers and one email for making reservations. Not sure I would give them my money up front.
And the remodeling of the park that was the reason they closed?????? I cant see any.

I went by there today. Nobody around, the weeds are 4 ft tall. Very sad the way they let it go. If it’s going to open on Nov 1st, they have a lot of work to do. Bring a weed whacker with you and some Round Up.

| Totonaka is a wonderful alternative. A beautiful, secure, community like park in the midst of San Carlos, walking distance to everything important, Froggies, Charlies Rock, Santa Rosa, Tonys, the beach, shopping, dentists, Dr. pharmacia, restaurants, etc, etc...

The future of the RV park is unknown at this time. The owners are studying and deciding what to do. The future of the property is still undecided as the owners analyze things. A legitimate business process. Nothing more than that. All I can say is that I speak with some authority because I know the owners.
It is probably best if the thread is dropped until we get some news from the "horses mouth". Rumors, speculation, and outsider opinions serve no one.

Um, well then the "Horses Mouth" should speak up,
the way the whole thing was handled was not professional at all. And the state of the property also speaks for itself. OPEN and HONEST communication to your employees and customers would stop the thread.
Until then we can only go on all of the folks here. And that is what we are here for SAN CARLOS INFORMATION. Facts are Facts, and the comments have been from people that have gone by, spoken with Clarissa, or searched the internet. Clarissa herself didn't know if she would have a job or paycheck come Monday. So the owner needs to communitcate with his customers and his employees!!!! If he/she chooses not to do so, then the thread will continue. WHY does the owner not just step up?
The thread has not put up vicious gossip that has been talked about regarding the owner or his son, people are stating what they know or see!!!
Keep it going that is why we use the site INFORMATION

Yes it would be nice to hear from the Owner about the Future of this Trailer park.
It was a nice Park , but like it is in San-Carlos for the Businesses. Staying alive for one Year with the Customers coming only 5 or 6 Month's is dificult.
Lets hope the Business goes on.
Saludos Hans

I wasn’t spreading rumors. I went to the park and reported what I observed.
The “horses mouth” should be making his “business decision” before they accept reservations. People plan trips into Mexico several months before they arrive. Showing up at a RV park that is closed would be very upsetting to their trip. Meany of the RV caravans that come thru San Carlos every winter depends on El Mirador. Totonaka will not be able to accommodate 10 to 20 RV’s showing up in January. Last January, Totonaka was so full you couldn’t walk thru the place. The caravans plan their trips 6 months before they arrive, so I hope the “horses mouth” will let them know his “business decisions” soon.

Why do you not call the owner, Stephen and ask him? He speaks English and am sure he will give you the correct answer?

| I called Stevan and he would not give me a direct answer. He finally told me he was the broker selling the property. He said to contact Century 21 in SC for more info Last edited on Wed Oct 22nd, 2008 12:13 am by marvin

With a $6,000,000 price tag, even with a substantial down, can you imagine what the monthly payments would be? And, that would be 12 months a year.
The old man who owns Totonaka has owned it for a long time and I am sure it is free and clear.
The Best Western, next door, also has some spaces. He tried to buy Totonaka but they weren't selling.

| the "old man" died in an accident several years ago. His son, Joe, has managed it for the last 12 years. $6 mil price tag would be a poor roi.

No point.
Well, there is a point. It must cost a lot to keep the park at Marina Real open.
6 mil is asking price for the park at Marina Real.
