There have been three burglaries on the Peninsula Caracol within the last week.  Just heard yesterday that there was one on Manglares.  When I went to check further on this, was advised that there had been eight reported burglaries, one house that has been burglarized each year.   There have also been burglaries in the Ranchitos,  copper pipes taken out of homes being built, also electric wiring.

Had put an add on this morning that was in the paper stating that San Carlos Guaymas was going to be a safer place to be in, but upon hearing these burglaries, I do not feel that it is working?  Has anyone else out there heard about any other burglaries?  Have not seen anything mentioned on the vivsancarlos board, but also heard that there is a new boss running that site?

I think we have to work as a community and let people know that there are burglaries happening, otherwise if it is not mentioned or hidden it can only get worse, just helping the burglars.

I don't know if this was one of the eight burglaries reported before or a new one, posted on another website.

On Tuesday, one of our friends home was broken into. His home
is behind Bananas in the Manglares area. They broke into his
safe, which had quite a lot of money & jewelry in it. It was
someone who knew about his safe.

It is something to note that two of these homes, one on the Caracol and one on Manglares both had safes broken into, could these be the same burglars? Does anyone know if the second safe was sledgehammered?? as the one in Dodie's?

From what I hear, the homes that were burglarized on Manglares belong to Selby,Hegge,Cantrell,McCoy,Devy, but do not know the other names, but believe there were three more.

Does anyone know if any of the houses that have been broken into in the past few weeks have a professional security service? Does anyone have any informationn on the success rate of having a professional security service?

Have any houses monitored by Cyberco ever been burglarized?

Many years ago one of the houses on the Caracol was burglarized and it had Cyberco's alarm system and that is how they caught the thieves as that alarm went off Cyberco showed up and found the thieves in another house hiding in the shower.  About three houses had been burglarized including the new one with Cyberco system. They aprehended the thieves and all the stolen goods as they had been stashed in one of the homes, but they had not taken them off the Caracol.

Did not understand the post?  This seems to only happen during the Summer months.   IMHO Do not think it has anything to do with "economically privileged lives around economically deprived"   A thief is a thief, a burglar is a burglar.  Happens all over the World.

Neighborhood watches, being aware of what is happening,if people post it on the bulletin boards and to the Comisario, taking  extra precautions.  Know there was a security system in one of the houses that was burglarized.  Am sure that the security companies in San Carlos and Guaymas, will be doing a good business this Summer.

Translation of my above message:

As more Nortenos move into the area I believe that property crime against them will increase. Compared to the locals, these new comers are drenched with goodies and are easy pickin's.

The point is, it is prudent to secure your possessions. A top of the line home protection system, Cyberco, Cameras, alarms, neighborhood watches. Some combination of these would work.

Neighborhood watches and alarm systems can help prevent theft. Cameras can aid in the apprehension of the criminals.
