Someone said there was a lot of police at the Fiesta Hotel but nobody seems to know what happened.  Anyone hear what the problem was?

Desalojan a Catalina Ordaz

Basically, the El Vigia article says that Mr Mellen's lawyers were able to get a court order to remove Catalina Ordaz from the property.  Senora Ordaz claims the lawyers are corrupt etc etc etc.

Todays paper claims that the owner Jon Mellon, finally took possession of the hotel he had bought.  It has been in the court ever since she took adverse possession many months ago.  Also the condos.  The buyers of the condos were not permitted into the condos they had paid for.  Only the Campbells were able to take possession, and that wasn't very pleasant with the elevator shut down on them, and their condo being on the third floor.  It is nice to see that the courts can work here in Mexico.

This Woman has a history of shady dealings in the SC area. Is she still associated with Snowbird reality?

What's gonna happen to my buddy Luis?  He is one the most hospitable personas in SC and would be a great loss if not working there.     The empty swimming pool is one the best skating pools I've ever seen, I'll get fuel TV to expose it once this clash is over.

When I read the st atement on this thread that certain lawyers  were accused of being corrupt, it shocked me.  The two worst disillusionments  in my life:

  1.  There is no Santa Claus

  2.  There are corrupt people in San Carlos.

And after I had been reassured repeatedly, by several San Carlos Business opeators, that there were no corrupt activities  in San Carlos!!

What's left for a poor country boy to believe in?

The facts on the current Fiesta Real Hotel and the Villas Sirenas situation are as follows: Jon Mellen's Hermosillo lawyer managed to "convince" a judge to sign an eviction notice. He then came to Guaymas and "convinced" the police chief to send municipal police officers to San Carlos to forcibly take over. They did. Subsequently it was found that Jon Mellen had previously signed over 100% of the shares of the corporation to Mr. Larry Hall from Arizona. Apparently Mellen owed Hall some money and Mellen paid with 100% of the shares he co-owned with Catalina Ordaz. So now, in my opinion, Mellen has not only embezzled the condo earnest monies (previously reported), but has now stolen all of Catalina Ordaz's participation in the Hotel and condos. For the moment, Larry Hall is the owner. Obviously this will not stand.

When Mr. Hall is forced to return the stolen participation, it is important for people in the U.S. to know that the alleged fraud and embezzlement was perpetrated by Arizonans. It's true that Mexicans executed the eviction, but it was the Arizonans that instigated them to do it. Each one of us can opine or speculate as to how they did it. What's important is what's coming and how that will be reported.

It is important to note that when one does business in a foreign jurisdiction, one has to conform to the laws of that jurisdiction. Non of us has the right to trample or otherwise abuse the laws of a foreign country.

I do not know who is right and who is wrong but I sure wish they would resolve it and finish the condos.  The unfinished building is an eyesore and not good for San Carlos.

Having lived here for over 27 years, and personally knowing  Ms Ordaz, I find it hard to beleive that she has any repsect for the laws of Mexico.  The numerous law suits against her, are not by accident.  Her attitude towards the laws of Mexico, are very manipulative,   and not very honest.  Lets get real here, Mr Baca.  Too many times, the trueth doesn't get told, due to the fear many foreigners have about being deported, if the trueth be told.  It is time for San Carlos to ridse above all of the dishonesty, and let this town realize its' potentail, which until now, has been difficult due to the fear of investors losing their money, as many of them have in the past.

Richard Baca,
So you are saying that the judge was 'convinced' and did not base his/her judgement on facts?
Are you forgetting that Catalina Ordaz Aguiar de Evatt was removed from any administrative powers months ago-legally- but has ignored  these judicial orders?
Throwing the papers of service on the ground and stomping on them will not make them go away.
As far as abusing the laws of Mexico...............there are many fraud charges pending against your sister in law.
Including mine.
We believe the Mexican judicial system has enough proof to make the right decision.
Your 'facts' are not in order.
