Hello All,
I am looking for any recommendations for secure parking in Nogales, Az. I am meeting my brother and Nogales and we will drive my car to SC. I am looking for a safe place to park his pickup for a week.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Chuck

| Right behind the McDonalds downtown, a little more than a block from the border is a very secure lot to leave your car in. It's on the street that runs north and south on the east side of McDonalds, about a half block north.

Last year when we entered through Nogales we parked on the U.S. side. The parking area (for a fee) was right next to where the U.S. Customs park their vehicles. It seemed very secure. I think we paid $3. We walked across the border to get our tourist cards, walked back to our vehicle and left early the next morning. This avoided the traffic mess in Nogales.

Hi,
We are driving to San Carlos for the first time and planning on spending the night at Nogales on the US side can you recommend accomodation there and we like your idea about parking and walking over to get our tourist cards. Is it very far to walk when you cross over and what do you need to take with you to obtain your tourist card.

To get your tourist card, you need a passport or birth certificate (original or notarized with raised stamp copy) and a photo id. If my memory serves me right, in downtown Nogales, the migracion (Immigration) office is on the right after you cross the border.
6 month multiple entry tourist cards are 210 pesos, about $20-21.

Hi,
Unless you want to walk in for shopping, or other, it is easy to get your FMN right at the Mariposa crossing. The first building, first door, with parking spots (passenger cars only) right next to it. You can usually be in and out in five minutes. Back up and head to the left on the toll road to avoid Nogales traffic when you leave from there.
The Holiday Inn Express on Mariposa is one of the nicer places to stay, and is only two miles from the Mariposa border crossing.
