I hope that you didn't put any money down in advance.  I understand that a few caravans had arrived there with no notice of the closing.  They were not reimbursed.

Good Luck!:)

no we didn't put any type of deposit....i figured something like this was going to happen....and i'm sure i or anyone else who has a "reservation" will not get any type of notice either.....how can they be so inconsiderate of people...those people that came down in the caravan must have been surprised and angered.  but you know the old saying...money talks and i'm sure the money they got for this property was talking really loud!!! oh well viva mexico!!!! it really is a shame because we've had really good stays there and it would have been an asset to sc....hope anyone else who is planning on coming down and staying there sees this fourm so they have a heads up on the what's going on......i wonder about the people who have their rv's and boats stored there what's going on with that????

It is closed also.  There are no signs or indicators of any closure until you reach El Mirador.  There you will see the barricades throughout the place.  I will talk to my local friends and find out exactly what happened.

I live in puerto Vallarta and came from the South.  No problems my way.  Coming from the North?  I don't know.  Heading towards the NW in 2 days.  I guess I will find out.  Will inquire here, about road conditions and let you now if possible.

No problem.  I will try and get all of the info I can before I leave to let people know.

It's a total drag to drive for eight hours in this heat and find that your destination is  no longer there.

Happy Trails!

What exactly is going on over there? I have my trailer in storage there and I'm getting no answers yet. Is it totally deserted or what? Any on the scene reports would be appreciated. Has anyone heard from Clarisa?

When we showed up, there was a maintenance guy wandering around and said the park, office and the restaurant were all closed.  I'll try and get a liitle more info before we leave on Saturday.

I think Clarisa is gone... She said she thought her last day would be maybe Monday, which was a few weeks ago.

We moved our RV and a friend of ours out of there without a problem.  However, our friends, tv and dvd player were gone.   We had no problem with ours!!!!

There is a security gaurd posted out front as of this past Saturday, a few RV's remain in the storage area.  Our dive master told us that the Marina next door bought the property... Just in case there is a problem getting something out of storage, you may want to check over there.

To bad, sad,   there is only one RV park left Correct?    Snowbirds be warned, both of the RV parks pack out, so I worry about the long drive and the disappointment .....

The Totonaka RV Park is just across from Charlies Rock.  Not many people there right now.  Have heard that it is a bit noisey on the weekend due to two discos across the street.  Usually in the Summer months there is no problem finding a space, but in the winter, it might be a problem.

That is where we currently stay when we go down on weekends.  The music was loud on Saturday night, not bad... the RV air conditioner drowns out the sound, but you can here the thump of the bass.  I slept thru the music, my husband got up around 2:30 and went outside, he could sing the words to the music the next day...HA HA, but kids were having fun, packed house at the clubs...  The security guard is at the gate, and the gates are closed so no worries.

Everything is really clean, staff friendly, many available spaces right now.  They say that the street is lined up with people waiting for a space in the winter months.  Fabulous restuarant within walking distance.   Walk to the beach, however you have a moment of unpleasant odor due to the sewage tank right there....  Pass quickly...

But, still a need for another RV park,  Guymas??? is there any RV parks there, seems I remember going by one at the outskirt of town, and I have heard of a number of people diving in that direction?  Anyone know?

The Hotel Playa de Cortes in Miramar has an RV park.  Take the Guaymas highway and exit at the Miramar Exit.  Follow the road to the hotel entrance.  Neat old hotel built in about 1930 or so.  During recent visits in October and June, the place was nearly deserted, but the Bar and Restaurant were open.  Here is link to their web site-no mention of RVs but I saw 3 RV in the park last time we were there in June.

Thanks,  we are kinda new to San Carlos, and trying to discover what all is there to see and do... I hear of different things but don't know where to find them.  HA HA!!!

Love san carlos... I know where your talking about... We drove into the place last year.   We went through Gyumas to the shrimping boats, that was really cool to see.

Thanks, if anyone has interesting ideas of places to visit, post them I am sure many of us would love to check out all the places.
