Very interesting radio program frm Guaymas, where Catlina was upset about her topes being removed. The governor of Sonora was upset with the topes, and asked that they be removed. They went by the wayside rather quickly. Alot of us could not undertand why she was allowed to place them in the first place.

| Interestingly enough I spoke this past weekend to a fairly new resident of the condo complex that was directly in front of the topes in the outbound lane. The noise phenomena was described as screeeeeech, buuuuump- buuuuump, vrooom except in those cases where passengers were tossed about resulting in bumps, bruises and I gather more than one broken limb. Especially true early on when the topes were in and no signs up yet and particularly hard on passengers riding unsecured in the back of pickup trucks. Residents of that particular condo facility are not at all unhappy to see the topes gone!

The ones going into town made sense, the outbound ones didn't seem to have much utility.

I, for one, want to express my thanks to the Governor of Soonora for his actrion on the "terrible topes" that have been the subject of weeks of heated discussion and no action. Pehaps, now, some sensible topes can be installed at some sensible locations that will serve the purposes of ALL citizens of San Carlos. I don't feel that any of us are "anti-tope", but the location and type of topes that were removed seemed to rub almost everyone the wrong way.
