| Thanks to everyone for your responses, I am a total newbie to living in Mexico even though I have had a few brief visits. But this year I will be in SC for the winter. I am looking forward to meeting people, both visitors and locals. I'm going to get a chance to go from 80% fluency to 100. I think with a couple of months under my belt, I will be fluent. One more Skype question, if I have a Skypein number, lets say Vegas, will it still work in SC on my pc?

I don't have Skypein, but I have used Skype in SC for both computer to computer and computer to Mex and US land lines with no problem.

Alex,
I can second what John said! I have SkypeIN with a local Maryland number and it works great here.
