I was wondering if I could get some input/advise from some of you "regulars"?

My family are planning to make a trip to SC sometime this fall/next spring.  I need some advise on rentals/hotels.  While in the past my wife and I have enjoyed "playing it by ear" and staying at places with "local charm" and or "character" we now have four kids (11yrs - 9mos).  Because of this we need to do some better planning.

If any of you can throw some ideas my way I would be grateful.  Due to the shear volume of children we now pack around I think it would be better to try and find a house to rent, probably at least 3 bedrooms.

How about ideas on activities, family friendly of course.  One of our big plans is to live the manana life for a week or so.

Sorry to ramble so, but I would appreciate any help.

Hotel wise, I like MarinaTerra the best.  Reasonably priced, decent rooms.  Great view of the marina.  There is a pool for the kids.  You'll probably want a car, but you can walk to the center of town from here.

Several places to eat right around the marina (Tequila's, Marina Cantina).  On the weekends it can get a little noisy from Tequila's and Aqua (tendy bar).

The San Carlos Plaza sits on the best beach in San Carlos.  It is the most upscale hotel in SC.  But is about 5 miles from town, which is good and bad.

As you say, 3 kids in a hotel would be very cramped.  There are lots of houses to rent in all price ranges.

Thanks.  We will most likely drive down, so transportation shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone recommend a particular company or agency for rentals.  I don't really know where to start as far as that goes.  I have seen some from this site.  The problem I have is not knowing the area, are some better than the other?

Again thanks in advance for any comments/advise.

Check your private messages.  Also look on the main board for this site.  Lots of stuff listed.
